Our Mission
Our mission at the E-G network is to advance understanding of the complex intersections between energy infrastructure, communities, and social inequities. Through collaborative research, our researchers analyze how energy systems shape economic and social landscapes, from rural energy access challenges and the lived experiences of utility workers and users, to the historical evolution of electrification and its role in shaping consumer identities. Beyond energy, the network’s researchers engage with a wider array of resource and environmental concerns, emphasizing the diverse ways infrastructure and resource systems shape, and are shaped, by everyday life.
