Directory of Climate Change and Energy Experiments in Manchester, UK. Developed in 2010 the directory covers over 25 case studies that look at governance, energy generation community responses, transport and the evolving built environment as the city seeks to develop a low energy future. As energy infrastructures continue to transform and evolve the importance of trying to capture these complicated changes is central to beginning to develop a critical engagement with the new energy geographies of the city. The directory is aimed at providing a first step for getting to grips with these geographies by highlighting some of these emergent changes. Further directories from both of us will follow.
What has this got to do with the global South? Well…the research forms an important part of the process of reflecting on the relationship between global South and global North energy infrastructures and the similarities and differences that we identify and analyse over the course of the project.
